Atlanta Star Keith Stanfield Storms Stage After Losing to Silicon Valley at 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards

Leslie Mann and Christian Slater presented the award for best Comedy series to HBO’s Silicon Valley, but before an acceptance speech could even begin, Atlanta Star Keith Stanfield pulled a Kanye West with a few choice words of his own.

‘”I want to thank everybody for honoring us in this way,” the actor, wearing a white button down t-shirt and sailor hat, told an admittedly stunned CCAs audience. Stanfield added, “We worked very hard on Silicon Valley and here are we. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, executive producer Tom Lassally awkwardly paced behind Stanfield until ultimately making a quick exit. “I have no idea who that was,” Lassally initially responded.

He continued, “Unfortunately, Alec Berg was sick tonight so he and I are both last minute substitutions for this. So on behalf of Alec and Mike Judge and the cast, just want to thank the critics for supporting the show again and thank all of our friends and partners at HBO.”

Silicon Valley beat out AtlantaBlack-ish, FleabagUnbreakable Kimmy SchmidtModern Family and Veep in the Best Comedy category. Keith’s co-star Donald Glover won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the FX show.

Maybe Keith was showing his dis-satisfactory by being sarcastic…who knows?

Below is a clip of how it went down;
