Gugulethu “Gugu” Zulu was born in Soweto on May 13, 1978. He began his racing career in 1999.
He won three awards in 2001 that gave his racing career a much needed boost. Namely, the Guiness Achievement Award, Wesbank and Goodyear Star of Tomorrow awards. He was then dubbed “The Fastest Brother In Africa”.
He was a presenter in his own right and presented in the local motoring show called Car Torque in 2005.
He had a cameo role in the Hollywood movie, Lord of War.
In August 2007, The fastest brother in Africa was appointed as the commercial manager for A1 team South Africa. He became one of the contests on the SABC 2 show strictly come dancing.
Adding more to his achievements he became a ambassador for Wings for Life World Run. This was fitted for him given his love for charity work.
The fastest brother in Africa was married to Biokineticist and reality TV star Letshego Moshoeu.
He went to Kilimanjaro with his wife Letshego, and other celebrities including OG Molefe and Penny Lebyane for their keep a Girl Child in School project as part of giving back for this year’s Nelson Mandela Day.
We command him for his courage to keep-keeping on even when it’s tough.
Thank you for inspiring us all and the young generation of motorists. In his memory let’s try help young black kids who are interested in motoring sports but cant afford, especially who come from disadvantage backgrounds.
